Advanced System

Hynds Lifestyle Systems are an elite range of aerated wastewater treatment systems that offer environmentally sensitive alternatives to the septic tank.

The Lifestyle 'Advanced' System is a single tank operation that combines cutting-edge electronic technology with traditional treatment methods to provide a clean, odourless liquid suitable for sustainable irrigation of landscaped gardens, bushes or trees.

Hynds Lifestyle Systems are ideal for sites that need wastewater treated to a higher standard than achieved by traditional septic treatment alone. Typical sites include rural or residential areas not connected to the sewer mains.

Failed septic tanks or trenches can also be replaced or enhanced with a Hynds Lifestyle System to prevent further damage to the environment.

Compact Systems

The Lifestyle 'Compact' System separates the primary and secondary treatment process into two tanks. The secondary system is ideal for retrofitting to existing septic tanks or the entire system can be installed as a dual tank system.

Typical sites for Hynds Lifestyle Systems include rural or residential areas not connected to the sewer mains.

The Lifestyle 'Compact' System is ideal for retrofitting to existing septic tanks. The dual-tank system is also suitable where site constraints restrict the use of a single-tank system.

Elite System

The Lifestyle ‘Elite’ system is designed for the larger home or multiple dwellings. This system separates the primary and secondary treatment process into two large tanks. The increased tank volumes also offer protection against high surge flows that can restrict the performance of the system.

Typical sites for Hynds Lifestyle Systems include rural or residential areas not connected to the sewer mains. The Lifestyle ‘Elite’ system is ideal for retrofitting to existing septic tanks.

MBR

The MBR process utilizes the latest membrane bioreactor technology to offer the highest possible wastewater treatment level available.

The MBR System treats wastewater at an ultra filtration level, ensuring the highest standards are met. Treated effluent quality is typically better than 5:5:5 mg/l BOD5 Solids:Ammonia. Faecal Coliforms are kept at below 5/100ml and effluent is rendered free of pathogens, viruses and bacteria so no further disinfection is required.

Typical sites for MBR Systems include rural or residential areas not connected to the sewer mains, requiring a high level of wastewater treatment.

The use of drip line irrigation also makes the system perfect for areas with poorly draining soils, high water tables, limited space and steeply sloping sites.

In addition, Hynds Environmental offers treatment systems to replace or enhance failed septic tanks or trenches and prevent further damage to the environment.

Envirotank

The Hynds Envirotank is an advanced septic tank system for the collection and pre-treatment of household wastewater in areas without sewage reticulation.

Hynds Envirotank systems use a primary anaerobic settling process to lower both the suspended solids and the BOD5 of the wastewater, producing an effluent quality suitable for disposal to septic field drains.

The Hynds Envirotank system is suitable for rural or suburban areas not connected to the sewer mains, where primary treatment alone is acceptable. Typical sites include residential homes, farms, baches and lifestyle blocks.

Stormwater

Up-FLO

Hynds Environmental’s Up-Flo™ Filter is the new standard in stormwater treatment.

Designed to meet the most stringent stormwater regulations by targeting a wide range of pollutants including gross debris, fine sediments, nutrients, metals, oils and grease, organics and bacteria, the Up-Flo™ Filter is a high rate, modular system that combines a patented upward flow path with a unique Drain Down system.

The multiple treatment capabilities of the Up-Flo™ Filter – settling, screening and filtration – make it the most effective and economical stormwater treatment system available.

From a simple retrofit application to standard manhole configurations or even large vault system installations, the Up-Flo™ Filter is the future of stormwater treatment.

The high removal efficiencies and inherent low headloss of the Hynds Up-Flo™ Filter allow for a small footprint making it a compact and economical solution for non-point source pollution.

Hydro-Brake Flow Control

Hydro_brake Flow Filters

The Hynds Hydro-Brake® Flow Control is a self-activating vortex flow control device that provides superior hydraulic performance over conventional flow regulators.

The unique head/discharge characteristics of the Hydro-Brake® can reduce on-site storage volume requirements by up to 30%, offering significant savings to the overall project costs.

This self-activating device uses vortex principles to control and attenuate stormwater flow without the need for moving parts or external power requirements.

With clear openings up to 600% larger than conventional flow control devices, the risk of blocking is reduced to an absolute minimum.

  • Flow control for stormwater detention
  • Aeration of stormwater storage discharges
  • Catch basin inlet flow control
  • Capture and control of floatable trash
  • Erosion control and energy dissipation
  • Flow control for Sewer and Combined Sewer Overflow systems
